When is the last date to cancel a Rapids Run reservation?
Groups: Over ten person groups, minimum 14 days prior to the trip date.
Private customers: as soon as possible, but at the least by 12 noon the
previous day.
When is the last date to cancel lodging reservation?
When the entire reservation is cancelled, 14 days prior.
When the reservation is kept but the amount of persons reduces, 7 days
prior.
What kind of insurance does the travel organizer have?
Lieksan Matkakaverit is insured to cover personnel and personal property
damages
which are caused by Lieksan Matkakaverit negligence. Customers should make
sure they have their own personal
travellers insurance for personal property loss, injury, etc.
Lieksan Matkakaverit does not have an alcohol service license.
All water related trips (Rubber Raft, Wooden Boat, Canoeing, Rapid Swimming, etc.) have a ZERO-TOLERANCE. If you use it on the trip or are intoxicated you will not be allowed on the trip. The company’s insurance does not cover any accidents which occur due to the use of alcohol.
What do I wear and bring along?
Weather appropriate clothing! If it is hot: a sunhat/baseball cap, t-shirt,
shorts.
In May it is still chilly! Take along then a windbreaker or warm coat,
wool cap, gloves and wool socks.
What equipment does the organizer arrange on my behalf?
We provide you with life jacket, rain gear, rubber shoes/boots and wool
socks. School groups should bring their own rubber shoes/boots and rain
gear.
Driving Instructions to Lieksan Matkakaverit’s Ruuna Nature House
Road number 73 coming from Joensuu 2 kilometres before Lieksa turn right
to Pankakoski. Drive the road number 522 (Lieksa-Ilomantsi) past Pankakoski,
and turn left to the road number 5224 to Ruunaa.
After 13kilometres you will cross the Naarajoki bridge and come the the
Ruunaa's Nature House.
